Literature Circle Response #5

Hello fellow bloggers; Andrianna, Karran, Melissa, Haneen, Sara, and Hannah. Welcome to Literature Circle response #5. In this section of Sketches Dana has been through a lot. She got kicked out of the Tent Town, a place where she finally felt safe, and she also discovered a dead body, which has seemed to have an impact on her. So my question is if you were Dana would you go back home? What would it take for you to go back home? Considering that her mom is now looking for her as well.
Let's hope this discussion is as juicy as all the others.

Ello fellow blogger's. Arianna here. Its been a while but I would like to introduce my first blog after the break, “Assignment #9: If I had $100". In this assignment we were to learn about ethical gifts, what they are, and what they do. We had to visit four different websites to learn about different organizations that were organizing ethical gifts.
The organizations I have chose to purchase gift items from is Oxfam, ad Plan Canada.  I chose Oxfam because they had a big variety of gifts, that would really help people in developing Countries. Oxfam also wasn’t very expensive. So I could buy a helpful gift that was a fair price. The other organization I chose was Plan Canada. My reasons behind choosing Plan Canada was because , like Oxfam, prices were reasonable, and they had a wide variety of gifts to choose from. Another thing that made me really want to donate from Plan Canada was that they had gifts that none of the other organizations had. For example they had mango tress, and home birthing kits.
The gifts that I chose to purchase are misquote nets, A sheep, one mango tree, and wrap a new born baby.  I chose to purchase a misquote net from Oxfam because so many children from developing Countries die from malaria, a disease misquotes carry, and just one misquote net can save a child's life somewhere in the world. To me its worth $20.  Since I already "spent" $20, I have $80 left. And with that $80 I would like to purchase a sheep from Oxfam. A sheep is useful for multiple things like, milk, eggs, and wool.  With only $28 left, I would like to get is one mango tree. This mango tree from Plan Canada will be planted in a school yard. The tree will provide shade, and nutrients. It will also help put food in someones mouth. My last gift item I would like to buy is wrap a newborn baby. With this gift item I can give a soft, clean blanket, that will make a newborn secure, and warm.  With the $6 I had left I took it upon my self to give it to one of my classmates.
I will distribute my funds by buying different things, from different organizations. I wont be purchasing a whole bunch of mango trees, or chickens. If I had a $100 I would  distribute them to multiple things that are needed.
Thank you for reading. Feel free to comment. Have a stupendous day!

Instrument Study

The instrument that I play and studying is The Flute. The Flute is from the Wood Wind family. There are 8 parts to the flute. There is the Crown, the Head Joint, on the Head Joint there is a Lip Plate and a Embouchure Hole. There is a Tenon which is in between the Head Joint and the Body.  On the Body there is the Rod System and the Keys. And the last part of the flute is the Foot. The Flute plays in Treble Clef, and was invented in the 10th Century and was invented by no one really, since the instrument is so old no one really knows. The Flute plays in high pitch as well. The way you play a Flute isn't the typical way you play an instrument, instead of blowing into it, you blow across it. You blow across the Embouchure Hole which is on the Lip Plate. Assembling the Flute is very simple since there is only three parts that you need to put together. First you connect the Head Joint to the Body but you need to leave a finger space in between it, then you connect the Foot onto the Body. Sterilizing the mouth piece can be quite tricky because you aren't really supposed to get the Crown wet , so just clean the inside of the Head Joint, the Lip Plate and the Embouchure Hole. To maintain the Flute just gently take it out before playing it, gently put it together, gently take it apart, gently play it, and gently put it back in its case. Even tho the flute may seem like a stable instrument, I mean its made out of Copper, and sometimes even gold and silver but trust me Flutes dent and break easily , trust me I would know, I've had a few incidents before. And that is my Instrument Study on The Flute .

The Golden Rule

The message of the Golden Rule is to treat all people as equals. Yes I am aware of the messages and titles of T.V. programs and songs. Like on some T.V. shows the moral of the episode is to treat others how you would like to be treated. The expression of the Golden Rule I like the most is the Buddhism one " Treat not others In ways that you yourself would" . The reason behind why I admired it the most is because it is short and simple, but I feel the most effecting out of the bunch. It really gets me thinking. I would express the Golden Rule in my own words as ; even tho everyone you isn't like you, different beliefs, different age, different skin colour, different gender, and with all these differences you all have one thing in common that most people tend to forget. Your all human. Humans with feelings, that some people just don't care about only because of the differences they have. Some people may see them selves better as another peer because of these differences, but they have to realize that there still human and you should treat them as a equal. An equal to your peers, your friends, and your self. Things would be prodigious if everyone lived by the Golden Rule. Everyone treating each other as an equal is like something that a lot of people want but you know very doubtful but you still hope. I think some people don't behave by the Golden Rule is because maybe they were raised not to like someone who was different from the, and sometimes I think people do it is because they just don't care about anything so they just do it not thinking about the outcome of it. And that is my Golden Rule assignment.

Behind The Name

Behind My Name: Arianna
Before I started this assignment , I thought my name was Arianna because its just what my parents decided to name me. My parents chose this name for me because It was my dads goof friends daughters name. After searching on Behind The Name I learned that my name means "most holy".  Some other interesting things I learned was, my name comes from Greek mythology. In Greek mythology my name Arianna was translated into Ariadne. Ariadne was daughter of King Minos (son of Zeus, god of the sky). Ariadne later on fell in love with Theseus (son of Poseidon , god of the sea), but he ended up abandoning her. And finally she married Dionysus (god of wine, vegetation, pleasure and festivity). I think My name suits me because I like what it means and I find it very fascinating where my name comes from. And I cant see myself with any other name. If I could give myself a new name it would be Arizona because i just like that name. And that is my Behind The Name Assignment.
